- October: A book contributed by members of the ABCP, Artificial Intelligence and Its Impact on Future Society (《人工智能与未来社会发展》), was published by the Science and Technical Documentation Press (科学技术文献出版社) in China.
- 22 September: Three members of ABCP, Professor Yulong Ding (丁玉龙) of the University of Birmingham, Professor Kai Hong Luo (罗开红) of the University College London, Professor Yong Yan (闫勇) of the University of Kent, have been elected to be Fellows of the Royal Academy of Engineering (FREng).
- 27 August: Working with a number of UK universities, ABCP has produced a short movie to welcome Chinese students to study in the UK. Watch the video by clicking the link here: HD version, SD version.
- 30 June: ABCP Member and Member of ABCP’s International Advisory Board, Prof Zi-Qiang Zhu (诸自强教授) of the University of Sheffield, has won the prestigious 2021 IEEE Nikola Tesla Award. Congratulations to Prof Zhu for the great new achievement! The citation from IEEE says “For contributions to the design, modeling, control, and application of ac permanent magnet machines and drives.” More about this can be found here (Sheffield news story).
- 28 June: Public release of Impact of COVID-19 on Chinese Applicants’ Decisions to Study in the UK: A survey report (re-edited version) to all for free
- 24 June: ABCP Member, Prof Jianliang Xiao (肖建良教授) of the University of Liverpool, was awarded the prestigious Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) 2020 Tilden Prize. - 19 June: ABCP Member, Prof Jian S. Dai (戴建生教授) of King’s College London, has been named by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) as the 2020 recipient of the prestigious Machine Design Award.
