Dr Dechao Kong

Bio: Dr Dechao Kong is currently a Power System Engineer and the Subject-Matter Expert in DC Systems and Power Electronics at National Grid Electricity System Operator, UK.

He has been getting heavily involved in the UK’s academia and industry since 2008, contributing his such subject-matter expertise in technical strategy & policy development, new technology & innovation, engineering, and asset management in the areas of DC Systems and Power Electronics.

Dechao obtained his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Birmingham, UK. He is a Chartered Engineer and was an IEEE member. He is the elected UK Regular Member of CIGRE (The International Council on Large Electric Systems) B4 Study Committee – DC Systems and Power Electronics since August 2020.

Dr Chun Sing Lai

Bio: Chun Sing Lai received his B.Eng. in electronic and electrical engineering from Brunel University London, United Kingdom, and his D.Phil. in engineering science from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom, in 2013 and 2019, respectively. He is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Brunel University London.
