Professor Yi Li, a Life Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, is also a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals, and Mining and the Textile Institute. Recognised among the global top 2% of scientists (2022–2024, Elsevier), he is a prolific inventor with 56 granted patents and 41 intellectual properties transferred to industry. His team’s high-performance sportswear has been commercialised worldwide, including at the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympics. Among his many accolades is the 2024 Innovate Textile Award.
