SUMMARY:Leading the Future Healthcare CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Day
DESCRIPTION:On 30th November 2023\, ABCP co-organised a CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Day participated by 60 NHS doctors and a number of researchers including some ABCP members. The event saw presentations of participants’ NHS-related research projects. Participants discussed ways for researchers to collaborating with NHS doctors\, influential career coach in medicine\, doctors’ wellbeing advocator\, representatives from WESLEYAN and the British Medical Associate as well as senior leaders from the GMC and NHS Trusts. \nThe event aimed to inform research findings\, to facilitate open dialogues\, and to share grass-root practices to better trainee doctors’ working lives. The programme was well received. 90% trainee doctors would recommend this event to a fellow doctor; and 79% would like to attend again. Here are some comments from participants. over 70% believed their knowledge and to collaborate with researchers have been improved. \nThe event was co-organised by Dr Wen Wang (Co-Chair of ABCP’s Youth Committee; University of Leicester)\, Dr Mark McCarthy (University Hospitals of Leicester)\, Professor Maria Karanika-Murray (University of Leicester)\, Professor Kevin Harris (University of Leicester).
