You will meet editors of two international renown journals who will provide insights during the session.

Bios of Panellists

Professor Dennis Nickson is the Editor in Chief of Employee Relations (CABS 2*) . Employee Relations is a leading international academic journal focusing on the importance of understanding employment and HR challenges and debates within the context of contemporary national and international labour markets.

Dr Dongmei Cao is an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Management Reviews (IJMR), a prestigious CABS 3* journal and the leading global platform for theory-driven review articles in organisation and management studies. IJMR publishes papers that make significant and innovative conceptual contributions, providing a strategic platform for advancing new directions in research and rethinking how scholars conceptualise knowledge in their fields. The journal plays a vital role in supporting doctoral candidates by offering comprehensive literature reviews that help position their research within evolving academic debates. In this presentation, Dr Cao will introduce IJMR’s mission and distinctiveness, share insights into what constitutes a successful submission, and unpack the journal’s rigorous peer review process—including common pitfalls leading to desk rejection and strategies for crafting adequate responses to reviewer feedback
